Our hospital's policy for promoting AI medical treatment

Request for your cooperation

Nowadays, you may often hear the term "AI." AI used to be an abbreviation for Artificial Intelligence, but recently it has come to be understood as Augmented Intelligence.

In the medical field, research has been conducted into its use in supporting image diagnostics such as X-rays and CT scans, diagnosis of pathological tissue examinations, diagnosis of skin findings and fundus findings, real-time endoscopic image diagnosis, interpretation of medical data and prediction of outcomes, and it is now at the stage of clinical application.

In order to improve the accuracy and reliability of medical treatment and improve medical services overall, our facility will cooperate in further improving the accuracy of various AI technologies that can be actively used in the medical field, subject to review and approval by our facility's ethics committee, and hopes to introduce them as soon as possible once they are completed.

To improve the accuracy of the AI, we will randomly select cases that meet the conditions and accumulate medical data in a manner that does not identify individuals. Privacy will be fully protected, and no unfavorable circumstances will occur in medical treatment. If you have concerns about the AI research itself, please inform us that you do not wish to participate. This request will not put you at a disadvantage in medical treatment, so we would appreciate it if you would feel free to make the request.

We ask for your understanding of the above and your cooperation in improving the quality and safety of medical care.
Sincerely,

Tokyo Midtown Clinic
