At the 9th World Conference on Lung Cancer held in Canada in September, Dr. Junji Yoshida of Tokyo Midtown Clinic gave a lecture on the characteristics of heated tobacco and its distribution status in Japan.
The contents of the lecture and a photo of the professor were published in the News distributed at the venue.

Heated tobacco products emit less harmful substances than conventional cigarettes and appear to have fewer short-term health effects, but the long-term effects are not yet known.
Therefore, the lecture concluded that while it can be a useful alternative for people who cannot quit smoking traditional cigarettes, it is better to quit in the long term for safety reasons.
