Please collect the sample within 3 days of your appointment. (Please refrain from collecting two samples at the same time.)

Urinalysis

Please collect the sample as soon as you wake up in the morning on the day of your appointment.
However, tests can be performed if the urine is collected on the same day, so if you forget to bring a sample, we will instruct you to collect it at the hospital.
(Urine protein results may vary slightly between the first morning urine and urine collected on the same day.)

*If you are menstruating, please bring it in at a later date.

Blood test

Please read this before undergoing vascular puncture for blood sampling, intravenous injection, or infusion.

To ensure that procedures are carried out safely, please inform us if you have ever felt unwell or lost consciousness after a blood draw or intravenous drip in the past.

When taking blood, giving an intravenous injection, or administering infusions, the needle may hit a thin nerve (peripheral nerve) under the skin. In such cases, you may experience stronger pain than usual and a feeling of numbness or pain may continue, but in most cases, this will resolve without any aftereffects within a few days to a few weeks. However, in extremely rare cases (occurring about once in 10,000 to 100,000 times), pain or numbness may continue for a long time, leaving you with a disability in your hand.

The location of peripheral nerves varies greatly from person to person, and it is impossible to pinpoint the location in advance. Unfortunately, modern medicine cannot completely prevent this from happening. If you are going to have blood drawn, receive an intravenous injection, or receive a drip infusion, or have other procedures that involve puncturing a blood vessel, please be aware that this may occur on rare occasions.

In the unlikely event that such an incident occurs, we will do our best to take appropriate measures. Please note that such medical treatment will be covered by insurance.

Tumor marker

This is a test that measures specific substances produced by tumors, mainly in the blood (serum). Specific substances are also produced by normal cells, so they do not necessarily indicate the presence of a tumor.

Other

• Please be aware that blood test results from pregnant women may show values ​​outside the normal range even if there are no abnormalities.
• If you are taking AGA medication, your PSA level may be low.

CT and X-ray examinations

Please read before undergoing CT or X-ray examination

There have been some malfunctions with some models of implantable cardiac pacemakers, where the product caused a partial electrical reset during X-ray CT scans. If this applies to you, please contact us.

Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (gastroscope) examination

If you have glaucoma (including suspected glaucoma, high intraocular pressure, etc.) or an enlarged optic disc cup, please contact your ophthalmologist in advance and confirm with a medical certificate, consultation, or phone call whether sedation is available. If sedatives are used, you will feel drowsy after the examination, so you will need to rest for about an hour. In addition, you cannot drive a car, motorcycle, or bicycle, drink alcohol, or exercise on the day of the examination.

For those taking the anticoagulant warfarin (warfarin K)

Warfarin (warfarin K), a blood-thinning anticoagulant, may be used to treat or prevent cerebral infarction, myocardial infarction, lower limb venous thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism.
If you are taking warfarin (warfarin K), a biopsy may cause uncontrollable bleeding, so we are unable to perform a biopsy at our hospital even if a doctor deems it necessary.
If a biopsy is required, we will refer you to a hospital or other facility.

Upper gastrointestinal X-ray (barium) examination

An upper gastrointestinal X-ray (gastric fluoroscopy) is a test in which you drink barium (a barium sulfate preparation). Barium is a drug that is necessary to clearly show the inside of the stomach and allow for detailed examinations. However, after drinking it, side effects such as constipation, temporary diarrhea, anal pain, and nausea may occur in rare cases. In addition, although very rare, shock (allergic symptoms) known as barium hypersensitivity has been reported at other hospitals. Please read the contraindications below to ensure you fully understand the necessity and risks of barium and to ensure a safe examination.

In addition to the contraindications, if there is food remaining in the stomach or a lot of water on the day of the examination, it may interfere with the imaging and interpretation diagnosis, and there is also a risk of vomiting and aspiration, so please note that the examination may be refused or interrupted. In particular, if you are taking GLP-1 receptor agonists or GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists for diabetes, obesity, or medical dieting, food residue may be found even if you follow the dietary restrictions, so please consult your doctor in advance. In addition, removable medical devices (continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, etc.) may affect the operation of the main unit, so please check with your doctor and be sure to remove them before the examination.

After the examination, please drink plenty of fluids to help excrete the barium from your body as quickly as possible.

MRI/MRA examination

MRI is a test that uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves (high frequency) to image information about hydrogen in the body. In addition, since it does not use radiation, there is no risk of radiation exposure.

Things to check before the test

Magnetic forces and radio waves normally do not affect the human body, but if there is metal on or inside the body, not only will an accurate test be impossible, but in some cases there may be danger of heat generation.

Those undergoing infertility treatment

Please inform your doctor that you will be undergoing a health checkup, and be sure to confirm your doctor's instructions regarding whether or not to undergo an X-ray test and then inform him or her on the day of the examination.

Pregnant women and those who may be pregnant

Regardless of whether you wish to have children or not, you cannot undergo the following tests.

• Please note that if you wear contact lenses and fall under any of the following categories ① or ②, you will be asked to remove your contact lenses. ① Those who have an eye pressure test and wear hard contact lenses

  Please bring a storage case and spare lenses.

• Please refrain from bringing children to the clinic.
• If you have not received your advance information documents (test kit, etc.) one week prior to the test, please contact us.
• The costs of various health checkups and medical examinations are not covered by insurance.
• Please bring your insurance card as we may perform tests that are covered by your insurance if necessary.
• We will not be able to issue parking tickets, so please use public transportation on the day.
• Please note that for self-paid courses, we do not accept discounts for canceling some of the test items.
• When an insulin pump and a continuous glucose meter (continuous glucose monitor) are both being used, it is not possible to perform radiological examinations (chest X-rays, stomach X-rays, MRI, CT, visceral fat CT, mammography, bone density measurements, etc.) as this may affect the operation of the main unit.
