About Super Midtown Dock
- What is the difference between Midtown Dock (145,200 yen)?
At the Super Midtown Checkup, in addition to the same examination items as the Midtown Checkup, we also perform lower abdominal MRI for men, and gynecological and breast checkups and lower abdominal MRI for women. We thoroughly examine the entire body from the head to the lower abdomen, taking into consideration the differences between men and women.
At Super Midtown Dock, patients are examined in a special examination room that respects privacy. A concierge will guide you from the time you arrive until the time you leave, and will support you in making the examination go smoothly.- What is the difference between Super Midtown Dock and Super Midtown Dock Plus?
The Super Midtown Checkup includes approximately 78 additional blood tests, which can detect risks of diseases that are easily overlooked with standard tests, such as certain tumor markers and autoimmune diseases. We also test for risk factors such as genetic predisposition and lifestyle habits, and can develop preventive measures that are tailored to each individual.
- When will I know the test results?
For items for which the results are available on the day of the test, the doctor will explain the results in a special examination room after the test is completed, and the overall results will be explained one month later. Other results will be mailed to your home approximately two weeks later. Please leave the follow-up and home care after the examination to us, including the selection of oral medications, lifestyle advice, and the use of supplements.
- Are female doctors and staff available?
We will arrange for female doctors and staff to treat you upon request. In addition, examinations for women only, such as breast cancer screening and uterine cancer screening, will be performed by female doctors and female staff.
- Can my family come with me for a consultation?
Yes, family members over the age of 16 can come in for a consultation. Please let us know when you make your reservation. You can also receive an explanation of the results together.
Saliva-based cancer risk testing
- How do you test with saliva?
Saliva contains about 500 types of metabolic substances, among which substances called "polyamines" are known to increase in cancer. A small amount of saliva (approximately 0.4 ml) is collected and the concentrations of these polyamines are comprehensively analyzed to determine the "cancer risk."
- What cancers can be screened for?
The cancers that will be screened include pancreatic cancer, which is difficult to detect early; colorectal cancer, which is seeing an increasing number of patients but poses a significant burden when undergoing the test; young breast cancer, lung cancer, and oral cancer, which are difficult to detect by mammography.
- Does this test guarantee that cancer will be detected?
This test is not intended to diagnose cancer, but is a "screening test" to check for suspicion of cancer. Since imaging diagnosis is required for cancer testing, please think of it as a complementary test to a medical checkup.
Even if the value is abnormal, it does not immediately confirm that you have cancer. If you notice abnormal values, consult with the medical institution where you were examined and undergo a detailed examination.- How can I get the saliva cancer risk test?
This test plays a complementary role and cannot provide a definitive diagnosis on its own, so we offer it as part of our comprehensive medical checkup course."Super Midtown Dock Plus"Saliva testing is provided in conjunction with blood testing to increase the accuracy of the test results.
In order to detect fast-growing cancers early, our hospital not only performs imaging tests once a year, but also combines annual follow-up examinations* once every three months with health checkups to regularly check for cancer risks and abnormalities in the body.
